Windsor local business community warned about scammers

Royal Borough's Trading Standards team have warned local

businesses to take care of scammers offering them advertising spaces in their publications

and the Royal Borough's Trading Standards team has advised the local business

community to be aware of such schemes that include cold calling, email and in

person.

Trading Standards team has come up with advice that includes

not signing an agreement or paying money without doing background checks. Advertisers

should be able to provide proof of identity and any contacts with public bodies

or charities. Local businesses should also do an internet check to confirm the legitimacy
