I have just come back from watching the musical show 'Its a Wonderful life' at the Theatre Royal Windsor tonight. It is based on the popular movie of the same name, starring Jimmy Stewart. Sadly no Jimmy Stewart, but actor Stephen McGlynn played the part well. The show was good and is directed by one of the most sought after director, Sallie Warrington. Her direction was good and actors made good use of the space and had good timing. The one person whom I think stole the show was Morgan Deare, who played Clarence Oddbody, an angel sent to save George Bailey from committing suicide. Weirdly enough, he reminds me of TV's Victor Mildrew in looks. The show does give a feel good factor and when Clarence the angel says to George that when one person goes, it leaves a big hole in other peoples' lives. This show is perfect for Christmas, for making us realise how important families and friends are to us. The show will run from Monday 14th November 2011 until Saturday 19th November 2011. ReportTheatre Royal is a cultural hub in Windsor for brilliant plays and dramas. Currently Agatha Christie's Verdict is running this week and with tonight being its opening night.
Theatre Royal is usually very busy, with a great crowd. I highly recommend a night out to the Theatre Royal!

ReportHaving been there a couple of times, I must say how much I enjoyed watching The Producers this week. Theatre Royal is one of cultural hotspot in Windsor and for anybody who loves theatre shows or like a bit of culture, should visit Theatre Royal.
The Producers is running until end of week and then Joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat is running from next week. So worth going in to watch it.

ReportIf you want a bit of culture and at the same time an enjoyable night out, I would suggest a night out to the theatre. Windsor Theatre Royal is opposite Windsor Castle and has regular shows.
This week (18th July 2011- 23rd July 2011), don't miss out on Alarms and Excursions, an exceedingly funny comedy. It's a play with 8 mini plays within and stars only 4 actors. One not to be missed this week.

ReportReminds me of a Grande Dame of the theatre. Wonderful place to see a show, often packed to the rafters, Windsor people love their theatre and support it to the max. You can't go wrong. All visitors to the town should make it a must-see on their itinerary.

ReportThis beautiful theatre located opposite Windsor Castle is etched with history. The grand interior rivals any West End theatre and the large and dignified bar make it a charming all-round experience. The theatre puts on a range of productions ranging from musicals and circus acts to nationwide tours. The Theatre Royal is also the only unsubsidised producing theatre in the country and the quality of its own productions are in a class of its own.
